Disney park characters are costumed performers that appear at the Disney parks and Disney Cruise Line ships. They are split into two categories: atmosphere characters and face characters.
Atmosphere characters[]

Atmosphere characters, also known as fur characters, are performers that wear full-body costumes in order to portray certain characters, usually animals. They regularly appear in the Disney parks for performances and meet-and-greets, and are assisted by a cast member at all times.
Examples of atmosphere characters include Mickey Mouse, Judy Hopps, and Woody.

Face characters[]

Face characters are performers that wear costumes and makeup, and verbally interact with guests. They regularly appear in the Disney parks for performances and meet-and-greets, and like atmosphere characters, they are usually assisted by a cast member.
Examples of face characters include Rapunzel, the Mad Hatter, and Tinker Bell.
